



The Friends of Howard University Golf (F-HUG), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), was established to provide support to the Howard University Men’s and Women’s golf teams to become successful in the game. We also encourage their academic success, in order for them to become productive adults.




ABOUT THE TEAM

Stephen Curry, announced his commitment to Howard University with a pledge to support the establishment of the university’s first NCAA Division 1 golf program for the next six years.

Coach Puryear, the Director of Golf at Howard University, has coached on the college level for 13 years and been involved in the game of golf as an adult for more than 25 years. His coaching stops have included Stanford University, Michigan State University and Queens University of Charlotte. He has amassed six championships in 12 years, which include a national championship and Big Ten Championship along with a couple of Coach of the Year honors.
He is also the author of Diamonds in the Rough: The Shining Story of Inspiration, Faith and Hope in East Lake. Available now on Amazon.
